Co-sponsored by The Queensland Branch of the Information, Telecommunications and Electronic Engineering (ITEE) College of Engineers Australia (IEAust)
i.lab Incubator was established by the Queensland Government in 2000 to aid the establishment and growth of new technology-based ventures in Queensland. After nearly 10 years of assisting well over 100 member companies, i.lab has graduated successful and rapidly growing businesses and learned a lot about what it takes for new tech-ventures to succeed.
Peter Allison, i.lab Incubator Business Development Manager, will outline the roles the incubator performs, how it engages the local business community to assist, and some of the key lessons learned. He will outline some of the fatal flaws that new venture must avoid and the key requirements for commercial success. He will also talk about some specific member companies involved in software and hardware electronics commercialisation and steps and paths they took to success.
