TI MSP430 Low Power Microcontroller Workshop
Registration is required.
Workshop Information and Agenda:
This workshop will be a hands-on introduction to the MSP430, IDE and embedded C programming. The following is the agenda for the workshop.
530-600PM: Arrival and Setup
600-650PM: Microcontroller overview. Key components to the MSP430 and introduction to Code Composer Studio (CCS). Walk through of CCS setup and configuration for loading debugging the target.
700-900PM: Writing, Loading, Executing code. Real-time control of an LED and print to the JTAG debug console.
Requirements: A laptop and dev kit will be required for this workshop. The dev kits will be provided by TI and laptops can be shared. If you have a laptop please bring it.
Additional Information: Development kits can be purchased add a reduce cost. The MSP430 and C2x developments. If interested in purchasing a development kit the suggested dev kits are MSP430: EZ430-F2013 ($20) and C28x: Piccolo controlSTICK ($39)
The IDE (integrated development environment) can be downloaded from here.. Select the TMDFCCS-MCULTD version. This version of CCS is free and will work with the MSP430 and C2x microcontrollers and development boards.

Biography: Todd Anderson is now in his 15th year with Texas Instruments in the role of DSP and MSP430 field applications engineer; the past 3 years supporting customers in North Central United States. Todd was elected to be a member group technical staff on the TI tech ladder in 1999. Todd became an IEEE senior member in 2000. Todd has worked at two other companies before joining Texas Instruments. At IBM, Rochester MN, Todd worked with TI DSPs on several disk drive products. At U.S. Robotics, Todd worked on modem implementations with TI DSPs.
