Topic: Web 2.0: Google Application for Productivity Anywhere, Anytime
This presentation will discuss the application of Web 2.0 (Google tools) for collaboration anytime, anywhere. Online collaboration is one of the biggest motivation factors for Google application users. Google Docs, Spreadsheets, iGoogle, Calendar, Notebook, Gmail and other Google tools will be discussed for their uses, productivity and capabilities as collaboration tools.
Biography: EBRAHIM (Abe) SOLTANI, Ph.D. Dr. Ebrahim Soltani is an Associate Professor of Computer Education Technology in the School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and Director of Computer Technology Integration at Langston University. He teaches graduate and under-graduate computer education technology courses and, as Director of the Computer Technology Integration Center, is responsible for activities involving distance education, online course management system (D2L) and faculty training and development. In the Center he directs activities involving training, design and production of hybrid and totally online courses; design, production and planning of workshops and training in the use and integration of computer technology, for the faculty at Langston University, Langston, Oklahoma. His interest is in designing/developing new methods to deliver the content of courses to students for higher student retention and recall anywhere and anytime. Prior to this position he taught computer education technology courses at Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University, Huntsville, Alabama and Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS; Pre engineering courses at Donnelly College and Computer Science courses at Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas; and worked with Burlington Northern Railroad in Overland Park, Kansas in a Science Fellowship program. He has been involved in numerous grant-writing proposals, presentations, consultation and technology activities for computer technology integration locally and globally. He earned a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Kansas State University in 1982, a M.S. in Industrial Management Engineering from Central Missouri State University in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Computer Education and Technology from Kansas State University in 1995.
