Abstract

Transmission Line Maintenance involves the never-ending process of maintaining the health of high-voltage lines for system reliability.  Preventative and predictive methods such as line patrolling with digital photography, thermographic scanning and corona detection are typically employed and will be discussed.

Transmission Line Maintenance involves the never-ending process of maintaining the health of high-voltage lines for system reliability.  Preventative and predictive methods such as line patrolling with digital photography, thermographic scanning and corona detection are typically employed and will be discussed.

Biography:

Jimmy Etheridge is the transmission line maintenance manager for Georgia Transmission Corporation.  Mr. Etheridge is from Winder, GA and is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Forest Resources. Jimmy comes to us from Georgia Transmission Corporation with over 30 years of Right Of Way Maintenance and Land Management experience.

Jimmy is a Registered Forester, Certified Pesticide Applicator and ISA Certified Arborist/Utility Specialist. Jimmy has served as president of the Georgia Vegetation Management Association, Georgia Urban Forest Council and ISA Southern Chapter.

Jimmy lives in McDonough with his wife Beth and he is very proud of his two children Jamee and Drew.
