George Donart of Citizen Climate Lobby

Climate Risk & Bi-partisan Solutions

Mr. Donart will present on the bipartisan Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2019 that both climate scientists and economists say is the best first-step to to reduce the likelihood of catastrophic climate change from global warming.  He will also discuss trends and opportunities in the energy landscape.

As a commercial fisherman in Western Alaska, George Donart has long been concerned about the effect that ocean acidification& climate change have on salmon and those who rely on them.   He is a retired teacher, commercial fisherman, has volunteered with the National Renewable Energy Lab, and has helped organize the Alaska Wood Energy Conference.  He is also a chapter leader for Citizens Climate Lobby, a national non-partisan nonprofit organization that promotes a market-based climate solution.
