This presentation will cover a brief history of BAS technology in order to set up the modern state of the industry including – IoT, Platforms, Open vs Proprietary.  From there we will examine the players involved from concept to completion of a building with regard to differing delivery methodologies.  This will be done with an eye toward facilitating an open discussion around the questions – What Does It Mean? – Why Should Anyone Care? – Whose Responsibility Is It? – What Can You Do About It?

Ben Disney

Biography:

Ben Disney has spent the past 8 years involved in facilities & infrastructure related energy efficiency projects and most recently focused on building automation system platforms and their integration along with other low voltage mechanical technology systems. Ben spends a large part of his time helping owners and all of the various design professional disciplines develop specifications and solutions that create efficient, resilient and healthy environments.  Ben earned his bachelor’s degree from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. He is a Senior Business Consultant in the Honeywell Building Solutions group out of the Des Plaines, IL office.
