Eric Bakie

This presentation is an overview of IEEE Standard 1547. We will discuss interconnection and interoperability of distributed energy resources and the benefits they can provide to distribution and transmission systems.

Biography:

Eric is currently working as a System Planning Engineer in Idaho Power’s System Planning Department.  Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (mathematics minor), a Graduate Certificate in Power System Protection and Relaying, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho.  He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Idaho.  Eric has been with Idaho Power for nearly 12 years, prior to joining IPC Eric worked for Black & Veatch and POWER Engineers.  Personal interests include vintage motorcycle restoration, big game hunting, and long-range marksmanship.

Biography:

Jim Burdick

Jim is currently working as a Transmission and Distribution Planning Engineer in Idaho Power’s Planning Department. He has been with the company for nearly 8 years. Prior to joining Idaho Power, Jim worked as a delivery/sale person for Meadow Gold and as an equipment operator in the oil fields. This work convinced him to go back to school and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Idaho State University. While in school, Jim interned with Idaho Falls Power. In 2016 he became a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Idaho. His personal interests include coaching his four children in sports, hunting, and playing basketball.

 

Andrés Valdepeña Delgado

Andrés joined Idaho Power in 2014 to perform solar interconnection studies. He currently works in the Transmission and Distribution Strategies group providing technical support to different departments in the company. Andres holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Durango Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Boise State University, a college teaching certificate from Boise State University and is pursuing a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering at Boise State University.  In his spare time, Andres enjoys traveling and playing board games with his wife.
