JILS - Electric Vehicle Charging from Tesla to Chargefox
This presentation, will summarise the history of EV charging in Australia, looking at some of the early players and technology choices, and then take a deep-dive into Tesla's network design.
From here it will detail Chargefox's plans, successes to date and the role new technology has in charging systems network design.
Speaker: Evan Beaver
Evan is a mechanical engineer, with a focus on energy project delivery.
Over the last decade he has delivered projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage and electric vehicle charging.
From 2014-2017 as Director of Tesla Motors Australia, and head of their vehicle charging program, Evan built Australia's first DC charging network, linking Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide with a network of Supercharger Stations.
For the last 18 months he has been working with electric vehicle charging start-up Chargefox, as Head of Charging.
Chargefox has raised $17m from government and private investors to build Australia's first public charging network, that will charge all modern electric vehicles. The first site in Euroa opened last October and is the first EV charging site in the world to pair solar and battery storage on site, to expand the connection size and allow high-power charging.
