Effectively Grounded Systems for Renewable Projects

This presentation will explain the effectively grounded system, the impacts of effectively grounded systems on solar and wind projects, sizing and different considerations for ground sources, single phase testing challenges in community solar gardens due to ground source transformers, and recommended practices for achieving effectively grounded systems.

Biography:

Mr. Iqbal has been working at Consulting Engineers Group as a project engineer for almost 8 years. His experience includes designing and executing solar and wind projects, ranging from medium voltage up to 345 kV. He has worked on  substation design including physical and protection systems.  He also performed power system studies with load flow, reactive power, arc flash, short circuit, grounding, insulation coordination, voltage control, harmonics and protective relay settings.  He has been involved in procurement and management of the EPC projects.

Mr. Iqbal received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Engineering and Technology, and his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
