  • Prize Drawings!  Definitely a bang for your workshop buck!

Why This Workshop?

The IEC 61850 (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard defines the communication between intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) for utility automation systems. It enables the integration of all protection, control, measurement and monitoring functions by one common protocol. It provides the means of high-speed substation applications, station wide interlocking and other functions which needs intercommunication between IEDs. The standard encourages interoperability among equipment vendors, and at the same time, it simplifies engineering and testing, which results in savings for the endusers. IEC 61850 Standard has been adopted by the industry for more than 10 years; its applications and implementations have been growing globally.

The IEEE SF PES Chapter is bringing together four (4) Subject Matter Experts in the field to share their wealth of knowledge on this subject and its future directions. If you are working or have interest in the fields of Protection, Control, Automation and Communication, this Workshop is a “MUST ATTEND” event.

Target Audience:

PES members, regulators, utility engineers, practicing electrical engineers, and especially power engineering students.
