Topic:

High Power Amplifier Proper Use, Care and Selection

Abstract

RF Amplifiers are used for Conducted and Radiated Immunity Testing for EMC, they come in many different sizes and technologies. It is hard to know exactly what are the benefits from one over another.   Join us to better understand the technology behind amplifiers and what specifications are most important for different applications with a focus on how they are used for EMC testing. We will cover amplifiers and the different technologies (tube vs. Solid State & Class AB vs. A) that are used in them. Why are some better than others and what works best for EMC testing.  Though out this we will cover the proper care and use of amplifiers  based on their specifications and construction.

If there is time we will go through the process on how to size the right power to reach a target V/m field and all the components that need to be considered.
