Microsoft Azure Workshop

Development and testing of applications is a challenging business. Development teams face challenges today that even 5 years ago were not even on the radar. Everything from provisioning resources, versioning code, managing promotions, and testing at scale can be challenging, whether you are developing on premises or with a cloud provider. Add to that the myriad of application design patterns and hosting models, and things get even more complex.

What is needed in today’s development ecosystem are ways to empower the developer. This includes the ability to create new, complex development environments in a matter of hours rather than months. It also must be done in a cost-effective manner that will allow developers to deliver the business value their customers are asking while not breaking the bank. An answer to this challenge is the cloud.

Length: 8 hours

Students’ required knowledge: any programming language

Trainer: Sergii Baidachnyi (, @sbaidachni,

Hardware and software requirements: Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition (or better) with the latest Azure SDK installed. Azure passes will be distributed during the event.

Microsoft Azure offers developers a number of choices on how to best implement their solutions. Whether migrating existing apps, or building from the ground up, Azure provides an incredible array of compute, storage, and data models. Additionally, it provides the scale, agility and capabilities to address the development and testing challenges that you might have.

In this camp, you'll get hands on experience with some of the compute, storage, and data models that you can directly use in your journey to the cloud. You will also get hands on with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Online, and learn how to apply its power to drive deployments with ease, debug your solutions more effectively, test your solutions at scale, and drive better decision making during development and after deployment.

A certificate will be awarded to the participants.
