Our monthly networking event is held the second Tuesday of the month.  This is a great chance to meet your fellow IEEE members in a relaxed atmosphere out of the office.

The event will be at the Red Stag (www.redstag.ca) in the event room upstairs.  The dress code is casual, jeans and a collared shirt minmum.

Registration

Registration is $5 for IEEE Members and $10 for non-members.

By adding this fee we are including free refreshments of all soda and a variety of appetizers, and a drink ticket.

Mae Seto

Engineering Adventures: insight from a mid-life to young professional

Biography:

Mae Seto is a Defence Scientist at Defence R&D Canada.    Her areas of expertise include autonomy and control for marine robots (above, on, and under water),  multi-agent systems, underwater sensors, and ship and submarine acoustics.  Dr. Seto has written numerous papers and articles in these areas and a book for which she is editor and a contributor, Marine Robot Autonomy.    Dr. Seto has been Chief / Principal Scientist on many DRDC trials including one to the Canadian Arctic.  She is also an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at Dalhousie University where she supervises graduate students and teaches the graduate autonomous robotics classes.  Dr. Seto is a Past Chair of the IEEE Canadian Atlantic Section and was Guest Editor for the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering in Marine Vehicle Autonomy. She was also Program Chair for the IEEE CCECE 2015 conference in Halifax.    In 2013 Dr. Seto was at MIT as a Research Scientist collaborating with them in underwater localization and mapping for marine robots.
