LIDAR
Technology of the scanning laser range finder (LIDAR) is explained. The implementation of the time-offlight method in LIDAR is discussed. Examples of LIDAR applications in industry and research are shown. The audience also learns how to display the real-time distance data of a LIDAR using rviz (3D visualization tool for ROS). Dr. Sup Premvuti is a representative of Hokuyo Automatic Co.
Time will be available at the end of the meeting to address general ROS questions, get help with your projects, and possibly experiment with a LIDAR sensor.
