Topic: Advanced Control of Distributed Energy Resources

Speaker: Slavko Vasilic, Ph.D. P.E., Technical Expert, Schneider Electric

The presentation will assess the system integration and dynamic performance of modern DERs: solar, wind, storage, and others. The emphasis will be on their contribution to the grid's reliability and efficiency, and their resilience toward grid faults and disturbances. The following aspects will be discussed:

  • Power Factor and Reactive Power Regulation

Slavko Vasilic of Schneider Electric


Slavko Vasilic has more than 15 years of experience developing and implementing the cutting edge intelligent system solutions for power and energy systems. He serves as the technical lead and project manager on advanced and complex projects. He specializes in the areas of grid management and analytics, renewables, storage, energy efficiency and conservation, advanced system control and machine learning. Before joining Schneider Electric, he was with DNV GL, Siemens Energy, and Exponent.


He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and is a professional engineer in the State of California.
