Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Workshop - The Most Comprehensive 2-Day Workshop Ever!

IEEE SF PES Chapter is proud to present a 2-day workshop on Distributed Energy Resources, bringing together 19 distinguished speakers to cover a wide array of DER related opportunities from California utilities, CAISO, Academia, National Labs and industry to address DER deployment challenges and solutions. The focus of this workshop is to provide power community with a comprehensive atelier to better introduce and discuss DER impact in our industry. We also have the privilege of hosting Michael Picker (CPUC President), and Dr. Damir Novosel (IEEE-PES President) as keynote speakers for this event.

Top 3 reasons You'll Miss by Not Attending:

  • Breath and range of the topics
  • Experienced and practical speakers
  • Networking Opportunities

The workshop material will be available online for download. All efforts will be made to make the material available before the event.

The workshop includes lunch and break session refreshments.

Why This Workshop?

This workshop covers myriad of topics about DER technology and deployment that you always wanted to know but have not had time to ask.

Topics include the following:

  • Transmission and Distribution Interface
  • Cybersecurity
  • Grid Modernization
  • Demand Response
  • Energy Storage
  • CEC Rule 21 and IEEE 1547
  • EV Charging Stations
  • Microsynchrophasors
  • Markets
  • And much more!

The IEEE SF PES Chapter is bringing together several Subject Matter Experts to share their wealth of knowledge on this subject and its future directions. If you are working or have an interest in the architecture or economics of the future grid with larger renewables in the portfolio mix, this Workshop is a "MUST ATTEND" event. This workshop will present concepts, theory and practioner ideas from a wide range of subjects that include DER influence on transmission, distribution, protection and energy market operations.

Target Audience:

PES members, regulators, utility engineers, practicing electrical engineers, and especially power engineering students.
